Michigan Youth Football Classic II
Great Lakes Championships Tournament (November)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How do I register my team?
Registration is completed online through our official tournament site. Coaches will need to submit the team registration form, signed waivers, and payment to secure a spot. Once confirmed, you’ll receive check-in instructions.
What is the team entry fee?
The entry fee is $550 per team, which covers tournament participation, digital game access, and administrative costs.
Are there admission fees for spectators?
Yes. The Gate Fee is a one-time $15 per day, per person, or $25 for a weekend pass, with complementary admission for children 6 and under.
Do coaches and players need passes?
Players enter free with their tournament team wristbands. Each team will receive sideline passes for up to five coaches (coaches must be listed on the roster). Additional sideline passes may be purchased for $25 each. Parents and fans are not allowed on the sidelines, period!
Are hotel accommodations required?
Yes. If a team needs to stay overnight, teams are asked to book through our approved tournament hotel partners. This ensures discounted rates, convenient locations, and support for our host city in West Michigan. Details will be shared after registration.
How many games are guaranteed?
Each team is guaranteed (3) three games in the Great Lakes Championships tournament.
Do we need birth certificates or rosters at check-in?
All teams must submit an official roster online 5 days before the tournament starts and at check-in/weigh-in, including each player's jersey number and date of birth. To participate, teams must provide two forms of age verification for each player from the following list:
-
Birth certificate
-
School-issued photo ID or;
-
State government-issued state ID for sports
-
Current-year report card
Tournament officials will retain a copy of the roster for reference. Teams are responsible for keeping all verification documents readily available throughout the event in case any questions arise regarding a player's eligibility.
How are age divisions determined?
Team divisions are determined by the age of the oldest player on the roster. For example, if a team consists primarily of 10-year-olds but includes one or more 11-year-olds, the team will be placed in the 11U division.
Please communicate this policy clearly to parents, family members, and coaching staff prior to the tournament to ensure full understanding and transparency regarding rules and division assignments.
Will concessions be available?
Yes. Concessions will be open at most venues, offering food, snacks, and drinks. Food trucks will be available at select times and event locations.
Can we purchase tournament apparel?
Yes. Michigan Youth Football Classic II will have exclusive tournament t-shirts, hoodies, and other apparel for sale through our third-party vendor. Visit our website apparel page for more information. Supplies are limited, buy early!
What if my team is not highly competitive?
Teams will be placed in divisions based on a combination of age, roster strength, and available matchups to ensure a balanced and competitive tournament experience. Coaches and team administrators must be transparent about their team’s skill level and competitive nature during registration. Since we do not have prior knowledge of your team’s ability, division placement will be based solely on the information you provide.
This tournament was created to teach young athletes how to compete in a structured, tournament-style environment. We expect all teams to show up ready to compete, represent their programs with integrity, and embrace the spirit of fair play.
Will games be streamed?
Yes. All games will be monitored, recorded, and available for streaming using AI technology, allowing families to stream and watch from anywhere in the U.S.
